I have many questions (can't fit URL in though)

No idea what happened to the first post but:

I have recently made my first map, it is based on the Halo 3 Anouncement trailer.

It has weapons, vehicles and scenery downloaded from here and ripped from maps. It also has new weapons and scenery that I have made myself. What I have made are:

1. Spartan Lazer, made with sentinal beam and the multiplayer fuel rod gun.
2. Brute Spiker, made with the needler, trail behind needles has been changed to orange. I need to find out how to remove the heat seeking ability.
3. Grunt sign and the ruins the cheif walks through, which seem to work fine.
4. The huge forerunner weapon thing and the arches in the background. Unfortunately the collision I made for them doesn't seem to be working and they disapear when viewed from some angles. I guess they are not suited to a bounding radius of 5.

I have also made a bitmap for the Halo 2 cheif to try and make it look like he does in the trailer, I don't know how to make multipurpose and reflection maps though.

Edit: Another bug is the vehicles I have scripted, rather than usng globals, spwan as they should but when the respawn they all land on the same sawn point!!

What are your comments on the map and can you help with the bugs?

oh btw, played your map. it's great.
lol someone should make Valhalla or something (if they are in the beta, cause then you can see the map inside out). That would be cool.

i would make it but...i cant make maps 4 my life =(

In my Halo 3 Aouncement map I made the Spartan Lazer and Brute Spiker. Since I posted this build I have updated my spiker model.

I was intending to release my HALO 3 tags after I have finished them so other pepole can make HALO 3 maps.

To help me finish the spiker how do you remove the heat-seeking from it?

I was thinking of maybe making one of the maps in the beta after this one, and a campain level or two. For the campain though I would need a brute biped, is there one anywhere that I can use?

Also is it possible to add more grenade types to make it more like HALO 3?

oh you need to change some things for beta2:

-secret gun...way 2 ez to find...change its location
-is it my comp, or can you see a white 3D bar while facing the direction of the crashed pelican that looks like the secret gun??
-The forerunner scenery and other scenery you can walk/fly right through it
-the laser and the spiker...laser needs to shoot longer and have a charge to it. spiker well, has to get rid of heet seeking (which you are doing)

The brute is not rigged and that brute shot is part of the model. I ripped it from somwhere, I think a h2 headlong map. Also my previous attempts to get models I have rigged into HALO have failed, so are there any brute bipeds?

I intend to release my tags that are in there when they are finished, but I have ripped lots of stuff from other pepole's maps so I can't give you the password.

To finish this I need some help. First off can anyone recomend what the bounding radius for the faluty scenery should be? (the huge forerunner object and the large arches)

1. Spiker: Where are the reload and pickup sounds so I can change them? How do I remove heat seek and make the larger explosion when you're full of needles look like the smaller explosion
2. Laser: How do I make it charge up and shoot longer?

Also is there any way to add a third grenade or assigin unused keyboard keys for using equipment?

Maybe we should form a HALO 3 tags team, I make a model and send someone the basic tag in an e-mail for them to mess around with in grurilla, what do you think? And sorry if grurilla is spelt wrong.

I don't know exactly how the HALO 3 stuff works because I'm still having trouble downloading the beta from crackdown, it says I must modify my existing membership before I can obtain it, so I typed in the 48 hour live gold code that came with the game and it still says that.

Sorry, the spectre tags are not mine, I ripped them from somwhere I forget where. I am fairly sure there are spectres in the extinction map though, try there.

When I have finished my tags (brute spiker and spartan lazer) I will release them, I also made some of the scenery and the SA80 (scecret weapon.)

Does anyone know a way to make that rack be an item collection for the gun?

Also thanks for telling me heet seeking was in the projectile tag for the spiker, I looked in there and edited somthing that I think was the heat seeking so I think it no longer heat seeks.

I still need to know where the reload and pickup sounds are though, and I still want to know if it's possible to add more grenade types.

Also I still need help with the laser. (Charging and making it shoot longer)

thats too blunt, dont send it to him make him make you a tut on a test weapon like the fuel rod, and the spartan laser charges for 4 seconds and fires about a 1 second blast i timed on the beta i have, i can get you the sound to it also if you want

Yes, please make a charging weapon tut. The fuel rod gun from the standard multiplayer maps would be good to use as an example as that is the gun the laser is based on.

So please make a tut, that would be a great help.

Open your weapon tag, go down to where it says charging. Make it so the charging time is 3, charged time is 1, overcharged action is discharge, spew time is 1, and the charging effect spawns a beam from the primary ejection, a red light from the primary ejection and you should be good.

Thanks, it now charges but there is no sound or light to show it's charging, you hold it down for a while and nothing happens, then it fires.

I did try making an effect tag to go in that charging effect box but it didn't seem to do anything. I don't really know how to do tag editing you see, I have only had any real practce with modeling.

Also I don't think it's acurate enough, when I had my sight over a biped and fired it missed far too often. What do I change to make it acurate?

Do you have 3ds Max? If so I could give you the model as well so you can make the spartan hold it in the right place. Or you could just use gbx model importer on the tag.

The problem with the disapearing/flythroughable forerunner thing I know about. As far as I can tell I set the bounding raduis on the scenery tag wrong. If anyone can guess what it should be please tell me. Same with those big arch thingys (I think you can see one in the picture with "it never ends" writen on it.

The first few pictures though, at the human base, I've walked around that part of the map quite alot and never seen that happen. It must only happen on some computers, no idea what could be wrong there.

I know I have problems in there, I need help to identify and fix them. That's what this topic is for.

EDIT: Anyone know where I can get a decent earth sky for the map (the one on there is the only one I could find without a halo ring)

Sorry, I have no idea when it will be done since I haven't been told how to set up the tags properly and I was waiting for somebody else to make a spartan laser. I still would like to work on mine if somone answers my questions I asked earlier.

I did make collision geometry for my scenery, try walking through the grunt sign. The ruins with the dust around them are also solid. The large foreruner weapon and the strange arch things in the background have some kind of error, I did make collision geometry but it's broken. I think it is caused by having an incorrect bounding radius, as I think I used to have the same problem on the grunt sign. Could someone please have a guess at what the bounding radius should be on those two items.

Also the covenant capital ship isn't mine.
