So I just installed Halo Custom Edition as well as the 1.0.10 patch but whenever I attempt to play the game a fatal error message appears that says "We are sorry but there was a problem accessing your personal Halo PC files which are located in your My Documents folder". Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I installed both and ran as admin, however the same error box popped up.

Reinstalling the game might fix the problem and keep your Antivirus turned off this time. Also make sure to install for all users (there's a checkbox during install). If it still doesn't work, refresh your OS (reinstall). Edited by YottaBiter on Feb 27, 2018 at 11:59 PM

It's a permission issue, so reinstalling the OS is not required. Right click on your Halo folder in Documents > My Games and in the security tab, give full control to the current user.
Or try disabling UAC Edited by Nertez on Mar 1, 2018 at 03:45 AM

Never, ever do this! It leaves your PC open to malware.
