Quote: --- Original message by: MatthewDratt>Monthly Like how many submissions do you serisly plan on getting We'll see. The mapping contest exceeded expectations, and a lot of people narrowly missed the deadline. An asset contest is more repeatable as it's less of a commitment, and more people make assets than make maps ...but of course this is all an experiment. It's worth maintaining if there are at least 3 entries each month. Edited by Tucker933 on Nov 12, 2017 at 01:41 PM

I mean I like the idea but when it came to something like CE3 we wanted to do it 2-4 times a year. We didn't so the one that we did would be a big event. Not just another thing.
I'd just cut down. Bi-monthly. Once a quarter. Etc.

Either way, the recurring competition won't be for maps. Edited by Tucker933 on Nov 12, 2017 at 03:23 PM

Not to be a total jackwad but realistically speaking, making a full functional and well balanced map takes more than a month. SP is a bit wonky for the latter but thorough testing and understanding feedback of that testing is essential for both sides. A month simply isnt enough time to cut it unless you have people assisting you fulltime the entire way through

Quote: --- Original message by: EmmanuelCD Every 3 months is more acceptable nobody can make good maps in 1 month Hemoasis was about 1 month long. There was a point in which I didn't touch it for 2 weeks. Although, I didn't do any beta testing, etc. But yeah, 3 months is a good amount of time to spend on a map. It gives you time to fix any minor gameplay issues and visuals. I do think that an overall development pipeline of a level can save a massive amount of time.
