Hey,
I've had a Halo PC case with a disk and key and all that legit, but I've had to switch out things in my computer to fit a second internal hard drive, and I don't currently have a connection to my disk drive, so I'm wondering if there's a way I can install Halo PC digitally without needing a disk drive, and I could just put my legit CD key in and download the game again. I've been playing it for years and this build doesn't have a disk drive. I also do not have a USB disk drive. I could provide a screencap if you need it. I don't want to have to torrent it, even though I have the game. Thanks. |

There's no way to download the raw Halo PC game. You'd need to download Custom Edition (which only has multiplayer at it's core), and then if you wanted to play the campaign, you'd need to download all the campaign map files (I'm sure someone can link you to good default campaign files for CE).

External CD drive? Whether or not good default campaign files exist for CE they will still not be 100% comparable to PC, unless OP doesn't give a toss.

There's a 1:1 iso of halo PC in the galaxyverge archive, I use it because I've a touchscreen laptop with no drive.
If you're on Windows 10, you can even double click it and it'll mount automatically commercial resources(You'll need CD keys to install most of these since they have to be kept legitimate) Edited by OrangeJuice on May 1, 2017 at 10:27 PM |

After installing the game, if you don't have the disk in a CD drive, run the updater at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo\haloupdate.exe" before you try to start the game, that will allow you to run the game without having the CD in the drive.
