Is there any mod that just replaces the assault rifle in the classic campaign with the Halo 3 version? Or just tightens up the accuracy a little bit so it plays more like the Halo 3 version of the assault rifle? If not, is this something someone could do as a request, or is it more complicated than it sounds? Thanks! Edited by Kyle791 on Jan 7, 2017 at 05:38 PM

there are probably a bunch of them, but you wont find one that plays as you expect quite honestly. The reason I say that is because a lot of the time these mods are just haphazard modifications that don't go together very well.
If you really wanted to, you could probably take the campaign and just replace the default tagset with the zteam tags with some modifications.

It may not be easy or even a viable level of work if done with Halo CE(haloCE not compatible with HHT meta swapping), but with Halo PC it would likely be as easy making the changes in something like HHT and then making your PPFs all in a span of 15 minutes... But alas, this is not a Halo PC forum :)
The workload would be something like saaaay....:
1:) Back up your stock maps 2:) Use HHT to change assault rifle spread (and maybe change the reticule to the pistol reticule) ^---: 3:) Repeat for A10---D40
Have fun
For comparison this is how it would be done with the HEK....
With halo CE:
1:) Get all singleplayer map sources with HEK+ or some other tag ripper 2:) Back up Assault Rifle folder 3:) Change spread and reticule in Guerilla 4:) Download fixed//working singleplayer script data as none of the tag rippers I know of extract that info < ! ! ! 5:) Compile scripts for each map 6:) recompile all maps.
----- Not very fun...... Edited by OrangeJuice on Jan 7, 2017 at 08:30 PM

----- Not very fun......Doing the process on either or isn't fun. But nobody really cares either way. If you want it done, especially something with visual appeal, CE is the way to go. Going straight for functionality then yeah it faster on PC, but we're not here for halo PC, we're here for CE

Unfortunately all of this is Greek to me. I just got Halo PC and thus, Halo CE, less than a month ago. I had kind of assumed something like decreasing the assault rifle spread a little bit had already been done somewhere and it was just a matter of pointing me towards it, since I couldn't manage to find it myself.
