Guys seriously... Where are the tutorials at? Look at this https://www.youtube.com/results?q=halo+ce+adjutant+extract+tag I want to find out how to extract a SINGLE TAG from any map right? But all I get on YouTube is BSP tutorials and... 1 DIRECTION VIDEOS! So uhhh what? I'm sure someone has made a video on how to simply extract a weapon, biped, vehicle, texture or sound... Where are the tutorials at? I'm sick of YouTube and Google giving me things I DON'T SEARCH FOR... Many thanks in advanced... Edited by Halo Noob Modder117 on Jan 4, 2017 at 06:55 PM

Adjutant does not support tag extraction, it's for the acquisition of models, textures, and sound assets in formats openable in external programs.

Sorry I worded that wrong...
How do you acquire the goods? Or more particularly one at a time? I only end up making the thing take just about everything it can out of a map but I only want 1 model or texture.
Say I wanted the Scorpion. How would I go about getting just it's model? Edited by Halo Noob Modder117 on Jan 4, 2017 at 08:35 PM

look for the item you want (models are in the render_model folder, textures in bitmap, so on.) and use raw extractor. Edited by MEGA_VKNG on Jan 4, 2017 at 09:42 PM

Ok, final part of the question...
Do the physics, collisions, animations etc need to be created from scratch? Or do you export those corresponding files too and then put everything together into appropriate tags in Guerrilla?
So I get the model and then do I also export animations, sound, textures etc. Then create a vehicle tag (or edit the existing scorpion tags and replace the GBX model with this one)?
Don't tell me 3dsmax and audacity is needed here... Edited by Halo Noob Modder117 on Jan 4, 2017 at 10:43 PM

Sound conversion and 3D modelling is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of my league.
I hope one day Adjutant or another program comes out in a million years where we can just straight up extract tags as is to port crap like you can with the Bethesda game engine.
...Over before I even started...

It's not something you can get away from, you need those for practically the majority of custom CE content, or even a game, heck, movie. The sooner you just suck it up and live with that being the standard for content creation the better things will get, I promise it's not too hard to atleast learn exporting and audacity, and this is coming from someone who just can't model.

Fair enough...
Apart from the scarce amount of specific tutorials, its just when I get those unknown errors it just shuts me down like a digital kick to the nuts!

Have you considered doing 100% custom stuff. Avoiding rips altogether would probably get rid of any corruption issues (which seems to be the error you were running into). The issues encountered would probably be manageable, stuff like dumb overlapping edges or something.

Well all I wanted to do was see if I could Halo 3-ify CE. Having the majority of Halo 3 weapons (minus the sentinel beam, flamethrower, missile pod, plasma cannon and machine gun turret) and all 3 warthogs, I was inspired to bring the rest of the bipeds, vehicles, weapons etc. over...
I thought it was simple... Little did I know Adjutant wasn't about ripping tags...
I just scrapped my entire idea anyway. I lack the appropriate programs and I've tried modelling etc in other games and all I can say is that this crap is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of my league. AND I DON'T HAVE THE TIME sadly...
As I said, I doubt it but one day, someone will release an everything flawless set of Halo tags or a better program will be invented to just extract straight up tags.
I don't know I can spend a few hours setting tags up but building from scratch, modelling, converting etc. is literally impossible for me (lack of time, resources (programs) and skills).
I'll just stick to placing existing weapons, scenery, vehicles and AI on my campaign maps :(
You wont be hearing from me again guys. Fair-well and thanks for the help. Edited by Halo Noob Modder117 on Jan 5, 2017 at 06:38 AM Edited by Halo Noob Modder117 on Jan 5, 2017 at 06:41 AM

Edited by Halo Noob Modder117 on Jan 5, 2017 at 06:38 AM Edited by Halo Noob Modder117 on Jan 5, 2017 at 06:41 AM I wouldnt quit. Youre definitely learning youre just trying to run without knowing how to walk. Modding CE is game creation. Its difficult. But you learn it bit by bit. Ive been working in Halo 1's BLAM engine for over 10 years now. Other's have worked for years as well. We know everything we know because we were there when it was discovered, or we ourselves discovered it. Just because you dont know as much as us doesnt mean you cant learn to do the things youre looking for. Start smaller. Place AI in an MP map and add some of Zteam's weapons for starters. Then compile a few scripts in that map to learn that. Learn to walk. There are people who will help. But you gotta work within your means.

Pretty sure there was that one other tag extractor which I conveniently can't recall the title of.
It may have been steelixb's precursor to the hek+....
