Author Topic: Zteam vs Takedown series sentinel beam (10 messages, Page 1 of 1)

So people of H:CE:Maps, I got another weapon tag related question...

So I've been playing with the zteam pack that was released and noticed all the Halo 3 weapons were perfect and only TWO were 'broken'.

The sentinel beam for some reason has no fire sound or muzzle flash. The Takedown series however uses the zteam sentinel beam but it works fine. I tried to mimic the tag setup of the Takedown sentinel beam with the zteam one but it still doesn't work like the Takedown one. Is the zteam pack outdated? Or does the Takedown series utilise a different sentinel beam?

Also what is the go with the SMG? Why does nobody on this planet use the actual Halo 3 SMG with its correct SFX?

I've been at it for months trying to fix these two weapons to completely perfect a Halo 3 weapon collection but I've officially given up because no matter what I do nothing changes.

If someone on this planet... I mean, if there is anyone in this entire universe who can create or has proper Halo 3 SMG and Sentinel Beam tags that actually work properly, could you pretty please share them or at least tell me how you set it up? Just these two weapons ruining my entire collection makes me want to completely quit H:CE...

Quitting because two tags won't work exactly the way you want them?

You probably won't last long.

If you explain what's wrong with the SMG, maybe someone can help. I may have some time this weekend to do so. If I recall, the Sentinel Beam was missing the fire sounds and lots of effects.

As for the SMG, I noticed you mentioned the sounds, but what else is wrong?

You could just extract the takedown Sentinel Beam and use it...

Chill dude. If you've played Halo 3 on the Xbox and have played Custom Edition mods that mimic Halo 3 you'll notice upon firing any 'Halo 3 SMG' that it sounds nothing like the actual Halo 3 SMG.

F.Y.I I've lasted long enough. I'm a full time console gamer and part time CE modder. I only make small campaign mods for my personal enjoyment (I also make lore-friendly mods). As for my Halo 3 weapon collection, my SMG and sentinel beam are broken so I might just scrap the entire collection. Unless one day someone makes a proper sentinel beam and smg they are willing to share since those two are non-existent in this community.

I can literally quote my own post, because you didn't answer the main question. What ELSE is wrong with the SMG?

I'll fix up and pack the Sentinel Beam for you, but the SMG sound might be a different story. I'll try to acquire the proper sounds and make them work (if that's the only problem).

Also, my first phrase still applies. You say you want to quit whatever it is you're doing just because two things aren't going your way. I don't particularly care, but I'd think one should rise up to the challenge and find a way instead of complaining on a thread that not many seem to be reading (or care enough to post)
And yes, the fact that I posted means I care a little


Anyway, on to the potential resolution. I'll *try* to fix that SMG error since I'll need to do it eventually anyway. Once I get my computer charger back, that is. It's currently with someone else, so I can't charge my 'development' laptop to do any of this (had no time either anyway).

Sorry dude, its just that working on 1 tag for 10 months has done my head in. Plus, I don't get much 'personal time' these days any more...

If you could really fix these tags up, well... My jaw will drop to the core of the Earth. Apart from your top-notch work in this community I don't know how else to think of you as a legend beyond legend. Anyway...

SMG- Just the fire sound. The Halo 3 SMG has some kind of fire loop or just a simple fire sound that no HCE SMG uses (CMT has a unique fire sound and every other SMG mod uses the Halo 2 SMG fire sound). Make sense?

Sentinel Beam- No fire SFX and no muzzle flash.

If you do get around to doing this, let us know when (or where) you put these bad boys up! I'm almost as excited for these tags being fixed as I'm excited for cmt's 2nd half of the spv3 campaign and the next Takedown campaign.

Not that it should bother me but for the sake of my OCD towards my collection of glitch-free tags, just these two bugs are killing me!
