Hello all.

Recently I (we've) run into a new problem (to me). It's happening to several people that when we minimize halo in game (to adjust music or vent or anything like it) that when the halo screen is opened back up, it shows the gathering exception data message and closes down the game.

This is of course not the biggest issue in the world, but I was wondering if more people have run into it, and/or have found the root of the problem.

I had this when I first installed Halo on win8, I just ran as admin, used win xp service pack 3 compat mode in conjunction with windowed mode. And IDK one of those fixed it.

It still exceptions when you alt+tab a few too many times in multiplayer.

Ah alright. I think we're all running on win 7 or win 10.
But I think alt tabbing is basically the same action.
Still wondering why that crashes halo, but thanks for the response. :)

Run Halo in borderless mode. There are two ways to do that:
-Get HAC2, set game resolution to your native resolution and then add -windowed to your shortcut. Then when you launch the game press alt+enter to hide the taskbar;
-Get http://westechsolutions.net/sites/WindowedBorderlessGaming/

(Not hac2, it's been giving a lot of people trouble, so I'm avoiding it.)

Well the borderless windowed mode is nice. Only mine won't play in anything other than 800 x 600. If that can be fixed it's a nice solution. (I tried adding -vidmode and the right res but the -windowed mode overules it.

Hac2 only gives you trouble if you are also using Open Sauce.
