Alright, so what I want to know is does each weapons projectile need their own impact effects or can they use a standard one, to reduce size of course. So instead of having a plasma rifle from h3 using one set of impact effects, and one from h2 using another set, does it matter other than the impact sound? What do impact effects do exactly?

Impact effects create different effects when a projectile hits different surfaces, for example shield and metal. If you use same impact effects for two plasma rifles it probably wouldn't make any difference.
