It's been quite some time. What can I do to get the most out of it these days? Any popular custom maps? Mods?

CE3 covers all the big projects being made in Custom Edition and 2016 will be the last (rip).

I'm wondering if their are any essential tools I need to fully enjoy it, or if it's like the old days when I just download custom maps, plop them in the folder, and jump onto the server browser and join. Well since no one wants to state the obvious: Get yourself HAC2. Stuffs like in-game map downloading, a united server list, FOV, new chat, medals and many more are present once you use it.

Also most servers run SAPP now so you don't have to lead your shots.
