in my experience, you can have rendering errors in the bsp, like desapearing faces in front of you, not sure what it cause it.

You can have the "does not define two closed spaces" error but still have working portals. It can be ignored but it is letting you know that something could be wrong. Import the WRL and look. Typically the error I mentioned means there is too much portal outside of the bsp area, however it could mean there is a gap in a portal space (and that portal won't work).

That is so not how you make portals dude. The grid method is dead.
