I noticed Sled had already posted some updates elsewhere so I might aswell make a thread here.

So, let me start off by saying that Mooseguy and Choco Thunda did an amazing job with the UUI. However, I am personally not a huge fan of the design choices so I decided to start concepting my own version.

Here is my original concept piece i did very quick in photoshop:

I asked Sled from Shadowmods for some help and we are now working on this (Ingame pic)



In terms of functionality, nothing will really be touched, this will overhaul the UIs visuals, Its still rough around the edges, so no release yet.

CREDITS:

343 industries: Halo logo

Savinpvtmike: Skybox

The first pic isnt even ingame, and its not gonna look anywhere near that.

What did you dislike about the design of the original UUI?

I'm curious to see how this one sets itself apart from the original, and from all of the others out there as well.

Actually you could make it like that, if it had was stylized with matte painting scrolling on planes. There are in the files of the games I think. The problem will be that the font will still be capped to 640x480 or something

Remove the 343 Logo.. they did nothing for CE but try to kill it.

4. If all your gonna do is nitpick so you can ride on the 343 hate bandwagon and complain about everything please leave.

@Pepzee I felt that the new halo logo didn't really look that nice with all of the original visuals found in Halo 1. It also just looked kinda funny in general for some areas.

the second pic was the ingame one, there is no 343 logo, we get it, you're butthurt, move on. no beta will be released.

people from SBB own it as i wanted thoughts on it.


anyways, I found the 343 UI artists artstation and it gave me some ideas, hopefully one day i'll be able to do a very heavy update on this UI

If you do decide to do this please allow custom characters in names. The original UUI didn't so I just use a the delta halo UI.

I'm likely going to scrap this UI and do something better.

Also, I just ordered the black art of halo mods, so that'll be cool.

Doesn't offer much in terms of UI, but it is indeed a good book to look at if you're struggling with CE.

I bought that one years ago, it was a great help to get started with mapmaking. I consider it like a collector's item nowadays, you can get all the info you need from this forum or from various youtube videos/channels.

Ah, well hey I'm all for a new UI with the amazing features of the universal UI. I'll def be keeping an eye out.

I already work with CMT, as far as I know a05 is named a10 now and there's a15 or something along those lines, don't correct me, haven't looked at the map files in a while.
