I was wondering how the Bubble Shield icon is shown in Firefight Descent (I mean the equipment icon on the top left part of the screen, below the grenades, that disappears once you use it), since I can't find any reference neither in the scripts nor in the tags. In the scripts I found only the spawn command, but not the icon... how is it done?

Here, try using this tool:

You can find what tags are referenced in the tag tree, including in reverse. So find the bitmap in the map, then follow the trail of breadcrumbs!

fantastic little tool that 002 is still working on. It doesn't have much editing capability as of yet, but for the tag-tree-traversal purposes it is the best for the job, bar none.

I've used it many times to figure out what's going on in tags from the ground up, rather than having to open guerilla and go guessing.

Best of luck!

That icon is apart of the HUD, replacing the flashlight icon.

That's how I do visors in Revolution, so that the Elites/Spartans will have enough difference in their HUD to complement the different fp arms.

^^This

When I was working on Mystic Firefight, I had this icon show up when I turned on the flashlight, and visa versa. (so I think, I dont quite remember), so if you wanted to write a script, i'd imagine you check for the flashlight state, and when it returns 0, drop the scenery/equipment/ w/e the bubble shield is on the player.

well if the icon shows up when you have it "equipped" I would think the script would detect if it's in his inventory, and then turn flashlight to 1, with flashlight to 0 otherwise.

The bubbleshield was all done through scripts. It was complicated and you'll never see us doing that again.

I wouldn't recommend trying to reuse the Firefight Descent HUD, as it was specifically made for Firefight Descent. Using it elsewhere may make it seem out of place. There are some other good HUDs out there though that should fit virtually every map.
