I did find some dinosaur footsteps sound for the thorn beast and I put the file in data and I name the file as "walk"
And the format is MP3

So basically it should not be "sounds" just "sound" without the "S" ?

tool sound
and it needs to be a mono .wav @ 44.1 Hz
.mp3 is not an acceptable format.

Oh so it needs to be .wav format. Huh I wonder why it didn't compiled.

you have to type the bitrate as well. I believe the command you're supposed to run is

tool sound sound\sfx\impulse\footsteps\thornbeast\mud ogg 44100

22khz ogg mono sounds are the simplest and easiest to compile without giving you problems. AFAIK if you want to compile Xbox adpcm sounds you need to have some fancy dll files and a virtual machine. Sparky is more knowledgeable with that kind of stuff.

The command I use:

tool sounds (directory) ogg 1

Question:

Is there a limit to the length of time a sound file may contain before it won't compile?

I.E 10 minute drum solo, would that compile?

I have successfully compiled sounds up to ~40 minutes in duration.
Use my video tutorial to learn how to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D48ewWrk80&list=PLOLhzsHlG3Qr8R5AgI67kKB9HisblIkZS&index=9

Bless you.
