How to Use Halo Multiclient with Xfire by Sceny

Please note: I used Halo CE for this tutorial, but it will work with Halo.

  1. Download and follow the installation instructions for Halo Multiclient.

  2. Exit Xfire.

  3. Go to 'C:\ProgramData\Xfire' and back up 'xfire_games.ini'.

  4. Open the original 'xfire_games.ini' up in Notepad.

  5. Find Halo or Halo CE.

  6. You should have something similar to this:

    Quote:
    LongName=Halo: Custom Edition
    ShortName=haloce
    LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Halo CE\EXE Path
    LauncherExe=haloce.exe
    LauncherPasswordArgs=-password "%UA_GAME_HOST_PASSWORD%"
    LauncherNetworkArgs=-connect %UA_GAME_HOST_NAME%:%UA_GAME_HOST_PORT% %UA_LAUNCHER_PASSWORD_ARGS%
    Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
    ServerStatusType=HALO
    ServerGameName=*
    ServerBroadcastPort=2302:10
    InGameRenderer=D3D9
    InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE|ENABLE_FPS_MODE

  7. Change the 'LauncherExe=haloce.exe' to 'LauncherExe=multiclient.exe'.

  8. Insert a new line and put 'DetectExe=haloce.exe'

  9. It should look like this:

    Quote:
    [4239]
    LongName=Halo: Custom Edition
    ShortName=haloce
    LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Halo CE\EXE Path
    LauncherExe=multiclient.exe
    DetectExe=haloce.exe

    LauncherPasswordArgs=-password "%UA_GAME_HOST_PASSWORD%"
    LauncherNetworkArgs=-connect %UA_GAME_HOST_NAME%:%UA_GAME_HOST_PORT% %UA_LAUNCHER_PASSWORD_ARGS%
    Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
    ServerStatusType=HALO
    ServerGameName=*
    ServerBroadcastPort=2302:10
    InGameRenderer=D3D9
    InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE|ENABLE_FPS_MODE

  10. Restart Xfire.

  11. On Xfire, click on Tools>Launch>Detect Games, and go to Halo.

  12. In the Extra Command Line Paramters, type 'haloce.exe + <other commands you may use>.

  13. Hit apply, and then ok.

  14. Launch Halo.

You could show us a video or screenshots.

You can see it in action (rushed): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4apiBbTF-uY

If that's not what you meant, and you want me to record the whole tutorial, then that's not going to happen.
