Hey all, I haven't been on here in a while. Thought I would stop in and say Hi.

Now onto business. I'm thinking about making a custom Halo Mast Chief themed controller. The majority of the buttons are going to be custom. I also plan on doing custom LED lights in the future. Anyone care to collaborate with me? This is all I thought of for now. Hopefully going to get to a Covenant themed one at some point if I can find the right buttons and shell for it.

That's actually a really cool idea. UNSC doesn't use 9mm (because their sidearms are lolcaliber) for what that's worth, but the brass bases as buttons seems suitable for the theme.

lolcaliber?? I'm just going off from what I found. I thought bullet styled buttons would be pretty cool. Still trying to find a cheaper custom Halo shell though.

"lolcaliber" as in really big. Those rounds are 9x19mm, whereas the Halo pistols fire 12.7x40mm.

But yeah, they definitely make for cool buttons. The olive drab shell looks alright, I'm not sure if you could find anything more Halo-ish that wasn't designed to be Halo-themed from the start.

I wouldnt mind getting a custom controller from TheControllerShop, but its like 300 dollars for something cool.

Yeah.... I kind of don't want something that expensive. lol Trying to get this done cheaply without it being crappy.

Just take a lot of drugs and go at it with a sharpie.

That OD green is spectacular. There aren't enough custom xbox controllers in my opinion.

Apart from the best selling limited edition's and those pathetic plastic wired variations the market is fairly slim.

3d scan and unwrap the shell.
Make a cool halo texture for it.
Take to printing shop and get what you want.

Plus that would be pretty expensive tbh. Can't really afford it. I kind of want to keep it basic. I don't want it to be expensive to make, but not crappy either. I kinda plan on selling these in the future via ebay. :P I also want to do a Covenant themed one as well as a Guardian theme too. I also plan on doing custom LED lights for the guide button to go with the theme at some point in time.

Well the 8 gauge Hippo shells are for a shotgun, and shotguns typically fire large shells, so it's not quite as comically oversized for its class as the 12.7mm rounds used by the pistol. It is pretty big, though.
