i was wondering if max can optimize a bad topology, make it proper. For this i used a pro boolean modifier on a basic model of the base. i search a way to make a better topology properly. i probably commit error when i welded vertex.

Also if we're talking about saving files, you can set up max to autosave your file as well. I believe it's under preferences -> file handling. You can set the interval (in minutes) between backups as well as the number of incremental backups to store

I set my undo settings to 500. Although that will use a little more of your RAM it's usually worth it. BTW. You could fix some of that topology by opening your "ribbon" in max and under geometry select Quadrify all, which will do it's best to quadrify the mesh. Some times though it does remove edges from corners which you will have to re-connect via the vertices.
