Sure, I suppose it's easy to place blame on me for this flawed system.

Kinda is since you've been breaking it the most

The system needs to be broken before it can be reformed.

Any of the things i said are bias and are not a true representation of the user base.

I said "stupidly biased".

but eh if we list pros and cons, having a restricte and select group seems to be the best option

Ah the hacker-mentality, hoping to get a job with the NSA?

I wish, but alas I just want this site to be better than it currently is. I don't have any malicious intent, if that is what you are implying. Is it unethical for me to find bugs and exploits?

I do believe his post was a response to me as I had responded to and misunderstood his previous post.

It is, but people use proxy websites to spam bad votes.

You seriously think people care that much?

But again, why keep something around if nobody cares about it?

i.e. Is it not a sign that the ratings system should be removed or revised if it's assumed that nobody pays any mind to the ratings system that they know offers little-to-no useful information?

Perhaps go with popularity ratings?

The more a map gets downloaded the better it's rating?

(Then again ppl might just download really bad maps cuz everyone else is, then the ratings would be sabotaged)

I think that rating system should be done by experienced mappers and players on this forum and not by public people. Maybe I am wrong???

It may be a little off-topic ,but I think that we should give awards to the best maps at CE3 like Top Unreleased Mod, Most played map or something like that. It will encourage the community to make better maps and not maps that are simply multiplayer with some AI stuff. What do you think about it???

Public people have every right to vote, as they offer a different perspective. If proxies can be blocked + a like/dislike system could be implemented, I think the system could be very good. It'd stop the spam, and adress the voting distribution.

And the reward of making good maps should lie in the process itself, and seeing the end-result. Also seeing how others respond to your maps is part of the satisfaction. There shouldn't need to be an award for it.
But that is indeed off-topic.

I'll assume you don't have malicious intent but you are not hacking at the site to make it better you are doing so for narcissistic gratification. You espouse the clarion call all wannabe white hats use and yet you never use a private message or email to forward your findings but instead make a show of it in a public forum. I've seen your ilk to many times. A myopic ego lacking experience or discipline wearing black or white glasses never fully perceiving a grey scale world.

You are correct and I cannot deny any of what you've said. Ever since Lodex left I felt this site was missing something. And I believed that something it was missing was an egoist. I felt that his attitude was key to keeping this site as I remembered it. Maybe it wasn't for the better for me to become what I have, but the nostalgia helped me sleep at night. I feel that it was all a facade and I didn't think I could ever supersede you, Lodex. Hopefully you are here to stay :)

Minus the killing of aliens factor and add the addition of Belgian and enjoyment of viking metal, then we might have an accurate description.
