ok so os good nes 1st is the HUD it will hide the health and the shied and the motion sensor when zoomed works for all guns that zoom in


2nd is the players gravity scale bit of a test so there is not much info on it

all the feed back you can give about the map would do

and this time the video is in 50 fps not 45 fps

Credit's a big thanks to AlekosGR for making some cool os textures
and thanks to altis94 for giving me some things to fix the H3_Mongoose
and benjimod for some trees

before I for get some of the vehicles are altis94 so some Credit goes to altis94

some sounds don't work at this time but it's getting there

and EtchyaSketch most no I didn't make this map but im updating it so it can be more fun as well as testing things new things

and altis94 this is a old map way old ... I was looking at some of the maps I had in me pc
form back in the good old days so seeing this map is fun giving it a update would make it more fun

3rd halo can have 6 vehicles that's the hard part is what vehicles to have for the two bases base red has 3 vehicles same as the blue base
the map will play like Covenant vs Human so the red base is Human and the blue base
so Covenant base will have Covenant vehicles and guns ...the Human base has Human vehicles and guns

I have so far for vehices i got in the hunan side is h3mongoose and
Warthog gauss h3 and the halo 3 warthog and scorpion h3 as well..so for the covenant
Side of vehices we have h3 wraith and maybe a ghost if i can get it working
i hope i can get some more covenant vehices

So give some feed back so i no what to keep and what not to keep

Halo isn't limited to 6 different vehicles as altis taught me a while ago.

I don't think I'll ever understand the compulsion to make mp covenant vs human maps. The former just doesn't have enough tags available that look or play nice enough to make it work.

2and im going to need someone to make textures like SPEC and normals it's up to you if you help

and BKTiel covenant vs human is a good idea if I can pull it off

the old pics do not have normals
but the new pic do if that helps

.. but if not then the pics of the map im updating do not have normal maps and the pics of tutorial have normals for the bipeds ..just take a good look I can see a difference. i hope to get more done I will have some time off in one day yay:)

Use an app like this to make the normal and specular based on the original texture,
after all most do it either in apps or photoshop based on the texture image.

Always, always make the normal maps and spec maps your self. Especially spec maps. Auto generating tools, only ever work 10% of the time.

Would have posted a link to a video on youtube to do that in photoshop, seeing he had someone else
making simple things like a normal map and specular map it made more sense to give link to an app.

I don't think you understand what multipurpose maps do.
I no what multipurpose maps are for and what tha do.. but form testing using normal maps and SPEC maps
it looks way better then using multipurpose maps I have tested this a lot

don't forget what os updates

so the next update for the map im updating is in a week or two

Multipurpose maps serve "multiple" purposes. This is a quick rundown. They have nothing to do with normal maps.

A bitmap is composed of 3-4 channels, Red, Green, Blue, and Alpha. For Halo Custom Edition the color channels in multipurpose maps are used as follows:
Alpha: Color Change
Red: Detail
Green: Self illumination
Blue: Specular\Reflection


If you think of each channel as a black and white image with more color meaning more white and less color meaning more black then this will be easier to explain.


Alpha: The more white the alpha channel is the more the texture will be tinted whatever color it is being tinted. This is used on the player's character to change their color.

Red: You can apply a detail map to a model which will tile the detail map across the main texture(the base map). This can be used to add more tiny details to a texture without making it really high res. The more white the red channel the more the detail map will show up on that area of the texture.

Green: This one is simple, the more white in the green channel the more that area will glow whatever color you have the shader set to glow as.

Blue: Simple as well, the more white in the blue channel the more the reflection will show up on an area.


Take a look at the cyborg multipurpose map and you'll see how these work. ALSO, guerilla says that the channels are actually in a different order. DON'T LISTEN TO IT. Those are the order for Xbox multipurpose maps. I would know, I mod xbox and part of a tool I wrote has the specific purpose of swapping the channels to and from xbox and pc arrangement.



EDIT: Yes I understand you are using open sauce to add normals to your models and specular COLOR to the models, but a multipurpose map does FOUR OTHER THINGS as I have stated above.

Also, the specular COLOR in an open sauce model shader only allows you to change what COLOR the model is tinted when light reflects off it. You still NEED a multipurpose map to make it actually shiny.
