I don't have much time.so I got to thinking it would be good to update the old halo 1 maps and add new things not just add new tags and textures
and gmax is 3dmax 4 and no good
so can you give info to lets say how to add NEW ROOMS to the maps?

As for adding new rooms to maps. 1. Open up aether, convert the map you want to edit into an OBJ. 2. Open up said obj map in 3dsmax, add what ever you want and export. Compile > Fix errors > Add lightmaps e.t.c Jhonlex is your uncle. I'm not going to go in depth in how to add a new room to a map because there are plenty of tutorials covering the topic. What your require most, is common sense. Here is one example of what I think you want to achieve. This is my snow edit version of H2 battle creek.
