something that is form ko man

@ questions about the next update: we're working to get up and running shortly before CMT's next release. More information (where to download, get source, changes, etc) will be released once it solidifies. With that said, we'll still only support v1.09 for the next release, but will have many of the fixes that appear in 1.10 (including the replacement master server). Overtime (esp since the last game update), the amount of engine memory we directly reference has severely grown, and updating them all to 1.10 right now isn't feasible with our free time schedule, on top of finalizing release-features. Honestly, any time spent supporting 1.10 I'd rather spend on redesigning how we target game binaries (so that most, if not all, code references are not hardcoded into OS).

Only servers that are updated to version 1.10 are shown in clients that are also updated to 1.10.

You need to update YOUR client to 1.10 and then you will be able to see the servers that are updated to 1.10.

While you are at it, you really should download and install HAC2 which enables automatic download and install of any maps that you don't have among MANY other enhancements.

Halo Patch 1.10 http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6798
HAC2 http://blog.haloanticheat.com/

There is also the possibility that some server operators have no idea about the update or are slow to update their servers, this means that even after you update your client, many of the servers will still not be shown - but there are plenty of operators that are on the ball and have updated ready for gamespy's abandonment.

@ questions about HAC2 features: While I agree it would be cool to see such features implemented directly in OS, part of the problem comes down to properly exposing such features to the user. Because we currently don't 1) allow the user to specify their key bindings for OS-specific features and 2) don't have a permanent UI solution. Any solution we do introduce, I'd rather see get implemented via with tags. OS would then load, and keep in memory, this specialized UI map for use with displaying inputs/outputs (settings, FOV changer, server bookmarks, etc). However, most existing open source game GUI frameworks use their own asset systems and aren't very inline with the designs of the blam engine already. So since HAC2 supports it and presently doesn't completely break OS or vise versa, I'm content with working on engine/gameplay features for the time being.

CMTs SPV3 mod is going to come out during November through December of 2014. That means OSs release window is somewhere between July and November so that's about 4 months. You really want to wait that long for something you can fix now?

You can always have separate installs,
one v1.09 w/ OS
and
one v1.10 (with or without HAC2).

Soo.. why as nobody told him to just use his host files to re-direct gamespy traffic to bungie's new server? (Sure, updating to 1.0.10 is easier, but its no where near as fun) People have posted on halomaps the exact subdomains that Halo CE contacted at gamespy (That was actually the first wave of people going through claiming about HCE being saved. Just simply use hosthpc.com's IP (you can get it via ping) rather than whatever else they where posting, and your good to go)

Open notepad as administrator, open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
54.84.230.119 halom.ms1.gamespy.com
54.84.230.119 halom.master.gamespy.com

And if it ever stops working, just check if hosthpc's IP is the same with a ping, and fix the IP.

Although, I'm assuming bungie probably also set 1.0.10 to its own area (same way 1.0.1 and 1.0.9 players don't defaultly interact), so you'll probably only be playing with servers that are set to display in all lobbies (idk, is SAPP the only thing that does that? *shrug* I don't normally play, I just test mah own stuff)

It's actually not 4 months. Silent Cartographer Evolved's coming out next month on the 29th(August 29th) and the next OS version should be coming out near that date. It's SPV3 that's coming out in 4 months, which is seperate. (Evolved is a big overhaul and SPV3's just updates of the maps)

Oh yea! I completely forgot that Evolved was going to need OS.
