He's right.
343 RIPS. ALL THEY DO IS RIP. RIP STUFF FROM BUNGIE'S GAME (343, HDOAN, ZTEAM). AND YOU SAY NOT TO RIP? YOU SAY YOU CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN?! YOU JUST PROVED IT ALL WRONG -- YOU RIPPED FROM SOMETHING ELSE, WHICH PROVES YOU WANT THEM TO BE UNPROTECTED. AND YOU STOLE, YOU STOLE THE MODEL, AND THE TEXTURES.

343's thought process:
"Hey Frank, the fans don't like us re-using the Ma37 model in Anniversary! Should we tell the art teams to model a new one?"
"Hell no, Dan! Making new models for games is a waist of resources!! Here, just uhhh....use the model in the background of this vidoc, see it?"
"Frank... that's the third person model for the Halo 3 assault rifle."
*snorts a line of coke* (short pause) "Exactly!! So if we use it in first personnn-"
"The fans will think it's a totally new model!! O' Connor, you're a mad genious!!!"
"I know right?! Now our artists can stay focused on the important things, like massaging Kiki Wolfkill's feet before she starts going into another one of her tantrums!"
*They laugh*
END SCENE
...or something like that

Sabre Interactive, actually. 343 contracted the work on CEA out to them (and Certain Affinity for MP work) while they focused on Halo 4.

Would it even be morally correct for 343 to use old bungie resources. I think on something as important as a weapon.tag no.
Occasionally I wouldn't mind the odd re-used asset just to bring a little bit of nostalgia into the scene but really, 343 have found a new low.

Johnlex works for 343. JK. They probably were just using the HCE AR anims as a placeholder when making halo 3.

Look at the thumb, guys! (And how oddly it's being held)
The AR is using Halo 2 BR animations. Edited by Dumb AI on Jul 26, 2014 at 11:57 AM

...or something like that They used the 3p model because it was the most equally detailed model apparently. I've never looked at the h3 model myself, but ingame you can see where some of them are lacking detail on the right side. And seeing as the right side of the AR is visible with h1 melee animations....

Maybe it's stupid caring about canon at this point when all the good ones have been screwed over (see: SW and others), but wow. MA5C where only the MA5D was available? :c
I am not optimistic about this crass attitude towards maintaining lore consistency tbh

Sabre really couldn't simply add the detail to the AR model, even after they can modify all the levels? Psh. Also, we don't need to look at the Cortana level when we can RIP :D

Pretty sure the AR has a barrel.
And seriously? That's just the Halo 3 Ma5C on Halo 2's Battle Rifle animations as a placeholder. If you even watch some of the earlier ViDocs, the Halo 2 FP arms are being used (although the Halo 3 animations were finally made at the point).

None of us really care if the picture in question was utilizing halo 2 animations or not. This is one of those threads where you can kick back, grab a drink of choice, and write a screenplay about Frank O'Connor snorting coke and ripping models. Now lighten up and join the rest of us, you seem tense. Edited by Delicon20 on Jul 28, 2014 at 12:15 AM
