what do i need to download install to get the most out of ce i havent played in about 5 years so im sure ive missed alot

First you need a legitamate copy of Halo 1 (I'm sure you already knew that) Then download CE here: http://hce.halomaps.org/?fid=410 Then go and download Open Sauce which is required for some of the better maps like CMT's SPV3 Campaign. Open Sauce can be found here: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6267

Get OS for singleplayer maps.
Get HAC2 for multiplayer. It adds much of the same functionality as OS (such as automatic map downloads upon joining a server, HUD scaling, FOV adjustment), but it also adds some considerable new features such as server bookmarking, etc. If you have both HAC2 and OS installed, when the game downloads a map for you upon joining a server, you will have a crash to desktop. However, the map will still install properly. OS is needed only for some specific maps, such as the aforementioned CMT SPV3 campaign (of which only one map has been released) and some other upcoming WIP projects (will they ever get released? Who knows!). I personally roll with both of them, but I get far more use out of HAC2 than OS. |

Create 2 CE installs. One for HAC 2 and one for OS. I heard that the next os will fix all the hac issues though.

Actually, hold up on HAC/OS for a little bit...
A new patch (Halo CE 1.10) is just about to be released.. and apparently, there's an incompatibility problem with that and HAC2 right now. |

tbh i'll just wait and still use 1.9 for a bit. worst case scenario if i gotta do something i'll use direct ip, (they could also release the new versions of os and hac or betas when the patch comes out)
