I mean seriously, I loved seeing it get updated and there's still a few things that need to be fixed.

- HUD scaling fix
- my bsp isn't fixed, idk about anyone else

all i know about the next hac is it has smexy new chat, optic, and new server. will probably be out sometime after gamespy ending.

It's made by someone, I belive it's Btcc, I think. Don't quote me though.

HAC adds a bunch of functionality to the game, like the ability to bookmark servers (can't remember the last time I used the server list), automatic map downloads, FOV changer, sightjacker, and much more. On top of that, it adds some minor features such as HUD scaling, HUD colour-cusotmization, multi-team vehicles, and some other things that elude me at the moment.

There's really no reason to play without it. Even with OS installed, the only issue I've encountered is a crash-to-desktop upon using the automatic map downloads (the download still succeeds, though - when you re-open Halo, the map is properly installed and you can join the server you were trying to get into).

I've been spreading the gospel of HAC to the masses with every chance I get. I strongly urge everyone to get out there and start bookmarking as many servers as possible before Gamespy shuts down on the 31st!

ill take this one, some people still have weak computers that cant handle OS, and don't know how to eliminate the lag. I did before I added a command in the console, and then I upgraded and now I use OS with all the pretty colors, and now I use OS and HAC, its a great combination, one has customizability and functionality, and the other has visual effects and the ability to expand the capabilities of maps, technically, you cant lose with both... just don't join a server when you don't have a map

There's no reason to turn people off of HAC2 just for the sake of uniformity. HAC2 offers features that OS doesn't, and vice versa. Ideally, yes, it would be great if everyone used the same thing, but until both mods/apps are equal in terms of features offered, there is NO good reason to turn people off of HAC2 just for the sake of uniformity. That's ridiculous.

I like OS more than HAC, just like many other people but if I have to use HAC for the sake of multiplayer, then well... yep

yes, or at least have a working cd key, but of course you wont be able to play multiplayer unless you luck out, cuz you will end up banned from most servers from those pirated ones. it has to find the legit registry for halo ce

btw can someone give me the link for the recent HAC download? I need to give it to my friend through email

If you start Halo CE as an admin with HAC 2, then HAC 2 will automatically update itself when there's one available... atleast that's how I experienced it.

I hope next development they will put optic and chatlog in HAC2.

HAC and OS shouldn't be compared. They both add features in different categories, and just because there is some overlap, such as HUD-scaling and FOV changer, which are minor additions compared to graphical/engine enhancements and server bookmarks/join queue/join-in-progress, they are immediate seen as alternatives for one another.

Again, there is NO reason why people should only use one or the other, except for compatibility issues which both parties have expressed interest in resolving.

Until OS adopts HAC's excellent accessibility features, or HAC adopts OS's excellent graphical enhancements, it's foolish to only use one, because you're missing out on the great features of the other.

Unless you would sacrifice all that because of some minor incompatibilities that a) hardly affect the gameplay experience and b) will likely soon be resolved, due to the increasing popularity of BOTH of them.

IIRC HAC2 automatically updates when you launch Halo\CE.

What's up with these OS fanboys... Everyone talks about its engine modifications, how many cool features it has but all they do is make OS shaders and never release a map with those. I have been using OS for few months until I realized that I don't need it at all. It just adds more issues than new features.

So right now it's not worth using.

Using both and playing stock maps works great for me. Except the part where you have to press Esc when you have to use F7.

is it just me or does hac make spv2 maps crash? cuz I added this and tried those maps out and something about it doesn't like me changing, switching, or using weapons without a crash...

I only had problems with OS, but not with maps.

its really weird... all 3 of the spv2 maps I have in my campaign set crash from something to do with weapons now that I have that in my halo folders

I doubt that he's doing it on purpose, but when newcomers use these forums to try and find out what is needed to maximize their experience with the game, and there's a moron spewing nonsense about how they should only use one mod, for no logical reason, he should be discredited and corrected.
