The teams name is Vkmt (thanks supa!), since thats as close as i can get it to.

Also, im happy to announce that work on our first official map release has begun.
We are also working on GOOD halo reach and halo 4 tags (that dont suck.) Its one of our little sideprojects. we will be doing everything from weapon balancing CORRECTLY. to open sauce goodness. also custom anims. This doesnt mean we are fully gonna use ripz, we actually do have some nice custom stuff planned.

The original looks like metal that is well kept and has a lot of gloss, there's a difference between that and plastic. The specular is the main thing you'll want to work on.

Master Noob remade the cubemap I think, it looks better for some reason on his h4 master chief setup.

I would reccomend at least taking a look at how master noob set his shaders up. Also are the textures fixed up (no compression artifacts), I can't really tell from the picture.

Also as far as balancing, check the links below for some spreadsheets with weapon data.

lolman asked me to do a higher-quality illustration of the MA4D Assault Rifle which never really had proper visual representation. This is what I had to go off of, therefore I took a few creative liberties. To be specific, I added a vertical grip, Halo 4-inspired electronic scope, and a large anti-everything bayonet (aka mini-sword) where the magazine would typically be on a conventional Assault Rifle. A friend of mine mentioned that a more practical replacement to the bayonet would be a studded stock, somewhat like having a studded belt bolted into the gun. However, I must assert how this would be infinitely less cool then stabbing an elite in the face with a blade attachment.

Aesthetics: With this gun, the magazine is placed on the side like the SMG, although based on Halo Nation's description I couldn't tell if it would be on the left or the right side of the gun. This also presents a space issue as I'm not sure where the bolt would be placed, so I'll leave those problems up to the modeller. Visually, the MA4D looks like a mash-up of the BR, SMG and AR while also playing like it's own individual weapon which thrives in mid-ranged combat.

Functionality: The weapon would have a low rate of fire which could be used in both automatic and semi-automatic modes. IE just tapping the mouse button for controlled shots, and holding down the trigger for additional firepower with a slight loss in accuracy. The scope also supports 2x, 5x, and 8x zoom as the weapon basically fills the role of the universal mid-ranged marksman weapon.

I haven't done any hands-on balancing testing considering I'm just a concept artist, but these are some ideas I came up with while bouncing off of the Halo Nation article. Of course I haven't ran any of this by the team so if anyone has their objections I have yet to hear them.

yeah, it will be more balanced then all that crazy 3x zoom stuff. the plan is to be a slightly more powerful AR with a low rof. with a 2x scope. none of that crazy stuff. *but that bayonet is pretty awesome so ill let that in*

So yeah. everything's been going smoothly so far. but we ran into a little issue today. we only have 1 bsp guy. and its great we have one, but hes also our artist, so we don't wanna give him too much stuff to do. we also don't really have someone to help us with scripting. so, we really need either another bsp guy or another artist (mainly bsp, like, really we need someone pro with bsp) we are also looking for scripters. so if your interested, please don't hesitate to add me on my xfire (megasean2812) or skype (megasean12281)

Dark green armor looks better than bright green armor on an H4-era MC. It also makes a bit more sense from a camouflage perspective.

like i said its mp not mc mc will have the dark armor. for the mc i prefer dark solders for the mk6 its mp and thats how the color is

Darksoldier, it looks ok but the visor is super bright and you somehow made the helmet darker then the rest of the armor.
