I have recently been attempting to remake all of the halo weapons with new looks and details. First up is the assault rifle which is mostly complete. I got the counter working and glowing bitmaps, but I can't seem to be able to make a transparent bitmap work. I did get glass working on scenery, but copying it to the weapon didn't seem to work. I really don't know what to do. I've followed tutorials using Jasc, which I have as well as photoshop, but they still dont seem to work with weapon files. does this just not work or does it have to be done differently with weapons?

The blue parts that are sticking out are the bitmaps that I want to have transparent (they will be moved closer when they are transparent lol)
thanks!

So the shader_chicago files just naturally have the black transparent and the white not transparent? This could have worked with a normal shader_environment tag with an alpha channel. It's not transparent, but this works fine. I found out that I am unable to make a half transparent bitmap at all, even though it worked when I last tried to... lol. is there a simple program that could convert it for me? I checked around but everyone seems to think that tiff files can't hold transparencies...

The white tracker lines slide as well as the blue screen lines and the counter finally... FINALLY WORKS!

Thanks to those who posted, you guys really helped me!
