You are wasting your time prototyping in a game engine that you won't actually be using. You'll end up having to port everything over wasting valuable amount of time when you could have all the basics set up in Unity and not have to worry about switching engines. If your team hasn't already, I highly suggest getting an SVN. I created a tutorial on the matter which can be viewed here: http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=44667 Essentially it will allow each member to constantly be up to date with the project files and allow them to collaborate much easier, rather than having to send files over skype/xfire/aim, whatever.

They might, and are probably wasting valuable time doing so.
If you work in the engine you'll actually be using, you'll probably learn alot of things on how to set it all up, how to change it, and how to perfect it the way you want. Otherwise, you'll have to port everything over, and you'll still have to learn it all.
By putting it in the HEK all you are doing is wasting time that could be spent learning how to use the engine you'll end up actually using and how it works to put a gun in.

The coding is almost done in Unity. We are now focusing are attention to models and gameplay. So, we feel the need to test things.

For people who want to see the AR model: http://p3d.in/rswIf It still needs to get smoothing groups, textures, and I will need to get rid of unnecessary polygons to optimize.

I agree with higuy, you are wasting time even bothering with CE. What you do in CE is completely irrelevant to what you are doing in Unity. Worse, it makes it look like you guys look like you have no clue what you are doing, and makes it look like you're just dicking around rather than making progress.

Sean is doing that stuff in his freetime. Just because one member dicks around in their freetime, doesn't mean the rest of us are. I'm currently wokring on fixing issues with the AR model and adding smoothing groups. Are new guy (William) is continuously working on the render engine, learning techniques from documents on UE4 and Cryengine and applying them in Unity. Just because Sean is importing assets to CE in his freetime, doesn't mean the whole team is doing it/supporting him in his efforts. Also the Vidoc is still underway, but expect to see a short video by Bean asking for animators (it shows some test in-engine renders of Will's shaders and some weapons). Just had to clear this whole ordeal up (Sean, please refrain from posting inside jokes, there is a reason they are inside jokes). @rcghalohell: Could you please elaborate on the AR comment?

In all honesty, I don't know myself. We may end up taking some balancing notes and such if he gets "I01 CE edition" done in his freetime, but otherwise we won't be using any testing in other engines. It could be considered a showing off of the wip AR with the old ammo counter. The only updates that should be considered "official" will be from Bean or else it should just be considered as a WIP post.
EDIT: Forgot to mention one of the main reasons for him doing it is to prototype ideas and such to try to get us a little bit ahead in testing and such. As I'm all for prototyping everything, I can see how this would probably take more time rather than prototyping in Unity later. Edited by ZOBI3KING on Feb 24, 2014 at 07:58 PM
