What the marines were doing on Halo was pretty interesting. Has anyone else wanted to see more on that other than the book?

I liked Alpha Base, and CMT mentioned something about it a while back. I'd very much like to see an Alpha Base campaign.

From memory, CMT is doing a small section of Alpha Base based on Chief, i think SAS is referring to a Marine campaign of a sort. I think it'd be interesting to do a short spin off campaign based off the books, like a special ODST squad stationed at Alpha Base setting up certain elements from the books and the first game. Securing Alpha Base Rounding up Survivors Reconnaissance of the Truth and Reconciliation before Chiefs arrival Securing areas of the Pillar of Autumn and retrieving supplies Destroying Covenant supply lines Defending Alpha Base from the large scale attack (introduces the flood) Assaulting the second Covenant ship (before they blow its reactor) Problem is that it would be a pretty unceremonious end to the campaign, could make the player character Locklear, allowing you to escape with Johnson and such. Just throwing ideas around.

Just throwing ideas around. Ah yes, a Marine-oriented campaign. I can't think of any previous examples of such. *NEVAH BEEN DONE BEFO'!* Taking elements from the books sounds good, although some deviation would be acceptable, methinks. Possible endings include: •Name the main character Dacote: Dies At Conclusion Of This Episode. The campaign ends with the Marines preparing for the impending detonation of Installation 04, with the final scene fading to white as the blast overtakes them. •The Marines escape (Sergeant Stacker was one of the survivors of Installation 04, though it is never explained how) aboard Pelicans, captured Spirit dropships, or something of the sort. •Open-ended: The main character(s) come across one of Installation 04's teleporters and, shortly before the Autumn's detonation, pass through it. Cut to the interior of, say, Derelict, with a squad of Covenant forces searching the station. Show signs of brief human occupation (abandoned computer consoles, crates, equipment, etc.), but no bodies, no blood, and no signs of combat. Pan across the numerous teleporters throughout the map, implying that the Marines may have warped elsewhere, though their fate is ultimately unknown. Would also be a decent set up for a sequel, methinks.

There are a couple of ways you could do it so that it doesn't end on the T&R. If anything, I would go for the one described in a section of this fanfic where a group of marines (including Stacker) hijack a phantom as a way off of Halo. If you like the Halo books, you should totally read that. It is about as long and shows what the war was like for the marines.

Wish I could, but I don't really have the skills required for a lot of it (bsp and scripting mostly), nor do I have as much time as I would like.
