okay try this.
make a new shader_transperet_chicago_extended and under 4 stage maps add your bitmap for the sward. set color function to multiply and current u scale 1 v scale 1 leave the rest 0
then go to 2 stage maps and do the same thing.
then go to your sward shader transparent in there add in your other shader under extra layers.
then in maps do the same thing again.
under chicogo shader make it 2d map multiply
set it to plastic or hunter shield or glass or whatever you want.
You might want to set the flag to 2 sided or decal. or you could even add a les flare in there.
Best thing I can think of to make sward glow off the top of my head.
