Could someone give me the 3D model for the Halo 1 biped? I want to see about testing out my limited knowledge of cel shading to make a completely cel shaded (or mock cel shaded) halo map. I think a better question would be would it be achievable in halo CE or would you need to fake it somehow? I ask this because 1, a celshaded Halo map would look amazing (especially with the windfall island sky) and add bloom into the equation and itd look amazing. Anyways, i cant really access the models myself on lamebuntu but i can use 3ds max and blender so i could still pull it off.

Questions? Comments? Thoughts? Edgy, provocative post regarding Cryengine being superior?(shots fired) Post them below and your esteemed brigade leader will answer them as best as she can.

huh I would give you mine but my HDD was reset yesterday evening....
Just make a black shader environnement inverted on the model, and apply a hardly contrasted cubemap and it should do it.

I don't remember how I edited the texture. I think I did edge detection and a few things...

Love it. I'll play around with it a bit and see if i get something i like. Call me old fashioned but a colorful celshaded bloodgulch with windfall's sky would look awesome. I'll get to it and see what i make.

i'm pretty sure that you can achieve the same effect using the opensauce edge detect function.

try this tutorial to convert the stock textures to a more cartoonish look http://wiki.unity3d.com/index.php?title=Stylized_Texture_Tutorial

I think there is a filter that makes images cartoony/comic-like.

I'd really like to try this, but i have some confusion about how. Do i import the model into max and flip it? What did you mean by inverted? And is the cubemap change necessary to get the outline effect, or can it be done without that?

Quote: Rip model (in 3ds max)
Clone model
go into the modifiers, but don't edit them
go in editable mesh
select all faces, flip them (flip button), apply the black shader
apply push modifier with a negative value
Link both models to main frame and ingame.
