Is this possible without tool giving me error alarms ?

I merged another map model i made in 3DS using Import > Merge

Can i export this without attaching the 2 using Edit Geometry > Attach, or Welding some edges together ?

Can i just use the Attach option without gluing the boxes together ?

Or do I need to make 2 separate frame boxes ?

Thanks

ok, they are both textured and the IDs and map editors are clashing, can this be fixed without reassigning IDs and going over the UVW map again ?

No probably not
Just use the select by id, then give that selection a new id#

I did just that

I noticed that the merged objects Textures and IDs aren't showing up in the Map Editor

The First Object is from 1 to 18, so i put the other Objects ID Numbers 19 to 25

They Both have a +sky on ID 1 though

and i get a Prompt asking me something about the Default when i go to merge them......

i'm going to make a short youtube video of what i did sometime soon

but basically, i have one .max file that i want to combine with another

so i use the merge option to bring it onto my viewport

there are some options that i had to chose from when i went to merge the files and i went through all of them to see what would happen

_________________________________________________________

So i used auto rename merged material because it's the only one that doesn't mix up the bitmaps

Then i used get material in the map editor to get to this

i dragged that into the map editor and made a new ID for it.

i don't know if this is the correct way to go about merging 2 max files
any help would be appreciated

here is a short video of what i did in 3DS 2009
