Thanks

I downloaded some actor_variant files but when I go to add them in Sapien, I get this message

"Not all selected tags could be added to the palette. You selected one or more files that couldn't be added properly. Contact your nearest Bungie programmer for assistance."

I checked out this thread and followed the instructions given, but I still keep getting the same error message.

Download the d40 tags from http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1399 and follow this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv74edaMlB8 but use flood actor_variant tags instead of those ones

I'm very new at all of this

i realized that i had my tags in the wrong folders by opening Guerilla and seeing the red text
i assumed the red text indicated error so i looked around and fixed the directories
This gave me less red text in Guerilla, but left me with only one line of red text which reads

cmt\weapons\human\assault_rifle\assault rifle cc

the file that is missing is assault rifle cc.weapon

and i can't find this file anywhere

i'm still having trouble with some of the actor_variant files

can i get a list of where the following directories lead from ?

actor definition

unit

major variant

here is a screen shot just to make things more clear

Thanks for replying

The Sapien Error Message comes from an actor_variant file that shows no red text in Guerilla

The Only File that i've been able to load into Sapien with out getting that Message is The Captain actor_variant file

And whenever I replace a Weapon in Guerilla, the path still shows up in Red Text

I See what the Problem was now, I was trying to get Weapons from the Item collection folder that contains Weapons instead of going Straight to the Weapons folder

I was pointed to that Debug.txt yesterday but i couldn't figure it out
Must have been sleepy lol

But I see what's going on now

It's not only the assault rifle that wasn't in the directory that Sapien is looking for, it's the sound effects, etc.......

Here are 2 lines from the debug.txt

08.20.13 20:15:35 file_open('tags\sound\sfx\impulse\flood\combat\alertpistolmovefront.sound') error 0x00000003 'The system cannot find the path specified. '
08.20.13 20:15:35 couldn't open sound tag 'alertpistolmovefront.sound'.

08.20.13 20:15:35 file_open('tags\sound\sfx\impulse\flood\combat\fleepistolmovefront.sound') error 0x00000003 'The system cannot find the path specified. '
08.20.13 20:15:35 couldn't open sound tag 'fleepistolmovefront.sound'.

Sapien is looking for tags/sound/sfx

while my files were in tags/sounds/sfx

i figured this out while looking for the alertpistolmovefront.sound file

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\tags\characters\The Complete Halo Biped P.1\Character Bipeds\Halo Custom Edtion\tags\sounds\sfx\impulse\flood\combat

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\tags\sound\sfx\impulse\flood\combat

so i have to go and sort out my files and folders

thanks again

So I'm down to just these 2 files that didn't show up in a search through the directories

They must have not been included in the tag package that I downloaded

debris floodcombat scabs.effect

flood.material_effects

The best way to get these biped tags would be to go download a campaign map that has flood in it (e.g. one of the original PC to CE ports, say by the author of Renamon) and extract everything through HEK+, I will guarantee you that the flood tags will be there.
