you have two options...

1.make a game that is like halo custom but rematerialization (most not nearly would play)

or

2.remake all maps (custom maps,classics map, etcs ) or at least make a program to change models without harming the game....

We should collectively revamp the default maps with new BSPs that resemble the old ones but look significantly more HD (kind of like anniversary maps for ce).

Either that, or collectively create a completely forerunner map, with custom forerunner models (such as doom's gunblade and a modeled version of DFT's Vanquish LMG). No porting, no remaking other halo guns (but taking ideas from them is fair game), and nothing that isn't made by halomaps users, unless its making a non-halomaps user's concept a reality (again, vanquish).

We could also combine all the default maps and make them one huge map (similar to wm combo, but with more maps)

I know what I'm about to suggest y'all wouldn't care much for, but read this out.

Reach's Forge World

It might work if instead of the giant, high poly BSP, it gets sectioned down into the Hanger, Hanger Roof, Blood Gulch and Separate Island sections, all being independent BSPs for map making and Sapien-forging, that have animated skies that give it the appearance to be part of Forge World, where as it actually is just that section alone with a deceiving sky and invisible (and mostly unreachable due to a fall/water) wall.
Then, using Danolic's Reach Tag Pack, and obviously patching it up and all that jazz, recreate Hemorrhage , Asylum and stuff.

Worth a shot, or waste of time?

Didn't read the books, anyone have a mission from the books that would be cool to play in?

I like SOI's idea. Either that or the battle on the Unyeilding Hierophant. I'm sure we could easily recreate that with the people we have here at hmaps.

Halo: The First Strike

Maybe Chief and Cortana floating around Halo's debris field. They stumble upon 3 cryotubes and the remaining survivors from Halo's detonation. They board Ascendant Justice and so on. If this was to be done i recommend sticking with the Chief parts of the book. They seem pretty straight forward in terms of encounters. The Unyielding Hierophant seems like a good idea as well. If you want to know more about the book send me a PM.

I feel like the Unyeilding Hierophant battle would be cool, but you would have to pull some CoD tactics and do the battle through the eyes of a couple different characters (like, Grace up to the death, John, maybe a part with Linda) in order for the level to be longer than 15 minutes

Edit: I looked into it. Apparently, there is about an 11 hour gap from when the spartans first board the Uneven Elephant and when they start fighting. Like, the book just skips eleven hours

Missions are a bit short, but it does at least provide a base to work off of.


That sounds more fun to play than most SP maps we have now. But, strikes me as alot of work for the developers who are busy with other projects.

One question, would this campaign extension be using standard halo 1 assets to make it feel like part of the original campaign? Or would this be a complete remake of the original with the addition of these extra missions?

I'd like everything in this extension to be custom (including tags of course), after all the game is Halo Custom Edition.

Halomaps forums, the map.

Basically, a choose your own adventure story, where depending on relations to members, you'll either have battles against or with them. If you result as a troll, you and your comrades fight Dennis as the final boss. Otherwise, you, Dennis, and your comrades fight the troll army for the final fight. Forum members who are in the map will make use of their special abilities during battles (I will speak random script commands and make random things happen, modelers will make new weapons appear out of no where, dratt can force people to watch cutscenes (giving his side the advantage during the cinematic event))

the only books ive ever read was the flood(completely) and fall of reach(1/4 of it)

nonetheless, bring in yayap!
