So someone uploaded a whole lot of my beta maps with no credit to me?

Nice.

ODST C1 etc.

I did all the scripting, ai placement, population and so on. I know they aren't very good maps but it's pretty annoying not to receive any credit.

I've tried uploading maps before but couldn't get them to upload but the maps that were uploaded are the old copies. I've put a lot more work into odst c1 for example as I was planning to release for CE3

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I read in the rules or something that Dennis won't/can't do anything about that sort of thing, and that it's up to you and your colleagues to make sure that doesn't happen, and come to an agreement prior to it's leak/release.

In any case, doesn't a screwup like this cause Dennis to leave the authors: field blank?

Be more trustworthy with your maps. If you don't want them leaked, don't hand them out to everyone and their sister. Be sure to also name them something inappropriate and protect them.

Strictly speaking you could file a DMCA request to get it pulled down but whether it's worth doing that for a Halo map is another thing.

Dennis won't take them down or anything. He might remove the author name (ODSTMT) from them, though.

Copyright is implicit but either way it's not as simple as "it's a Halo map, you don't have any rights to it".

Is Hifag giving advice on how to prevent map leaking?

Here's how you prevent map leaking:

don't give your beta to Hifag.

All I can say is be careful to who you give betas to. And I have a tip to add. If you think you may have a leaker in your group, add "_BETA" after your map name. It may not prevent your map from being leaked but you won't have a problem like this again. I know this tip has been said many times before and some might think this post is annoying but I feel I better mention it anyway.
