Due to incompatibility. But Taiwan123 got HAC 2 working on the Open Sauce Version of Halo CE.

I do think it was stupid to program the same key for two different programs...

The problem is that if I took other mods into consideration, I wouldn't be left with any sensible choices. F7 isn't really a problem anyway, it only toggles the menu. I do aim to allow the user to define the shortcuts at some point in the not too distant future though.

OS crashes when HAC downloads a map because if it fails to find the file in the default location (which HAC can't use), it seems to assume that you're trying to play a .yelo file and looks for that instead. I'll add a fix for it in the next update.

That's easy, and there's still the same problem with the keys.

You can use the OS menu with F7 by pressing: F7, Esc (pause), F7 and Esc again, the OS menu will be open without the sightjacker being enabled, but you'll have to press those keys in that order again to close it without activating sightjacker. It's annoying, but it's something.

You can use a ton of keys besides F7.

I said sensible choices, not random key combinations.

You could have used F8-F12 or F5-F6.

Already using F5/6 (hence why F7 is the logical choice) and other fairly common mods make use of F8-F12. Either way, it's a temporary problem that isn't anything but a minor annoyance.

Pretty sure OS is more focused on tags and new script definitions.

Map downloading works until HAC tries to install it, then OS rejects it.
