100% accurate=impossible
Shaders are fine as they are. The absence of those lights certainly could be fixed.
waffles probably knows how to get those orange things working.
About your crappy Ranger...there was a equally crappy version released a while back, in this forum.

Rip the ones from Descent and ask Mooose for permission to use them.

Quote: --- Original message by: waffles Its entirely possible to get it perfect with OS in the picture. To get the lights to scale with the shield, you need to tie the shader to a function; and the only shader that supports function input on a blending scale is Transparent_chicago. Though there is a bit of work to do to make everything look right as far as the mesh goes, just for the fact that h2 uses basically 1 shader for each region (arms/head/legs/torso). I did this quite some time ago, and made it work near 100% identical to h2's. I may still have the pictures of the work I had... Perfection is not as easy to achieve as some of us may believe... Getting everyone to agree it's perfect is even more difficult.

Quote: --- Original message by: waffles Its pretty much perfect, believe me. The opaque shader template h2 uses can be replicated near exactly with OS. Actually better, since h2 used pre-defined specular point exponents, rather than OS's value scaled methods. Otherwise bumpmaps are a cinch, and the cubemaps are the same from CE as they were to h2. H2 doesn't differ nearly as much from CE as some people might believe.
Not to mention the meta is available to actually view to get the exact values h2 uses for things like reflection/specular tinting/detail scaling. That makes more than 100% perfect, yes?

This is going to sound a bit bad but, what exactly does Open Sauce ( or something) do? Is it like a dev mode program, or graphic enhancer, or something? Bit out of the loop on this.

It's an extension to the CE engine, making cool things possible like practical vehicle boarding (practical as in with less scripting.) and shinier shaders and all the good stuff.
It's the Special Sauce on your old hot dog.
