So it's a promise that there will be 7 Xbox One exclusives that have a high probability of being Halo. Depressing.

“It is not related to our Xbox One efforts, or [343 Industries’ post-Reach trilogy] the Reclaimer Saga, but rather a project we’re very enthusiastic about and will have more to say about in the near future.”

So not related to the Xbox One. Which means, unless they're going to stupidly announce 360 games at E3 in the middle of an Xbox One event, it's going to be non-console related. So either PC or something else entirely like a book.

Unless bootcamp and Spartan assault are different games probable they tie in together and bootcam will get to a conclusion that will make you want to byuy the xbox one to play the next game ike maybe spartan assault will be a better version for xbox one and bootcamp will be like a long demo

Yeah, Spartan Assault is a silly arcade game for mobile devices. It's also exclusive to 8, meaning our homedawgs at M$ are totally okay with making the mistakes H2v did. So, I have very little in the way of hopes for Bootcamp being for 7, which makes it just as inaccessible as if it were on the X1.

It's not a mistake like H2V though.

This is obviously mainly aimed at the phone crowds, which is certainly not a mistake considering the popularity of apps these days. The support for Windows 8 is likely a side effect from the game being developed on Metro's framework. Plus, since it's on the Windows Store, those who have Windows 8 as well as phones would be pretty annoyed if it wasn't on Win8 too.

It'd be pointless supporting Windows 8 and below since this seems to be a game primarily designed for phones and tablets. Though there might be an audience, the press would likely attack it for being a phone game on PC.

Please read the thread before posting.

I did, I was just showing the main website that states it'll be a windows 8 exclusive, just so there was proof that it was an 8 exclusive, as someone previously posted

please visit the url before accusing me of not reading the thread, That's just impolite! joking not insulting

Hasn't windows 8 been a bit of a flop thus far? Correct me if I'm wrong but they've been relying on OEM for pc manufacturers rather than people upgrading... And tbh I'd still rather buy Windows 7/XP if I was given the option. So I can understand the business incentives to release games for W8 only, but we know from experience how terribly that will go...

I still don't think this is similar to the Vista situation.

It is likely just that they don't want to anger customers that use W8 on both phones/tablets and PC because they promised a unified structure.

If they put enough effort into it, it will run smoothly.

It's being built for tablets so as long as your graphics card is less than a decade old, it'll probably be fine.

looking at spartan assault it looked like the models were pretty low quality because its top down but they would be perfect for halo CE

The models could be worked on to make them high quality

Only if you can work out where the Metro apps' files are stored.

I personally have no idea whatsoever. I've checked fairly thoroughly(though not everywhere :/)

Look at the game, its basically a stripped down Halo 1. Imagine taking halo 1, taking away all need to worry about depth, melee, reloading, etc (look at the buttons, no reload tablet button = no reloading) Just take Halo 1, remove a bunch of features, place the camera overhead, and that's Halo Spartan Assault. Halo 1 can run on Windows 98, so this isnt exactly a feat of any kind putting a reduced version of a W98 game on current technology.
