So i was just thinking, if you could take one thing from the halo2 engine and have it in the halo custom edition engine what would it be? Ragdoll and scenery physics is my choice.

You know it is not that hard to do scenery physics in halo ce. Just use a vehicle.

It's still good. You get to reset the crate's position.

Xbox halo 2 netcode would probably be the most beneficial. No more lead, no more lag, no more teleporting randomly. Better syncing, ai syncing(?)

Physics, support for multiple animations, looking overlays, bumps on dynamic objects, dual wielding, melee lunge, net code, and NOT the H2V HEK.

Hey i admit i don't know much about this but halo is a 12 year old game can't someone extract the source code or something so that you can put stuff in to reduce lag and improve ai syncing and i don't mean like open sauce

Yes the halo ce engine is old but because of that you can run more things on your map. An epic army of 1000s of coves and marines in a massive battle i'll pick over a few highrez cove encounters any day. Anyway i agree on ai syncing we need it. Edited by DMATH6 on Apr 21, 2013 at 08:02 AM

Edited by DMATH6 on Apr 21, 2013 at 08:02 AM It doesn't work like that. A newer engine can actually handle more objects if it is designed as such. Unreal Engine 3 can, in theory, handle thousands or even millions of objects at once. The issue is that there is no computer out there that can handle that many objects effectively, high rez or not.(well, except for in movie production I suppose) I doubt that Halo's engine could handle more than a few hundred enemies at once without a bunch of glitches popping up.
