Multiple questions

  • How would you go about making one?

  • What software would you need?

  • Would the main menu theme song be set in a .wav?

  • Do you have any suggestions for the backround and if so, does it have to be from halo?

  • For the menu Layout, would that be created via a premade overlay and then mapped to the clickboxes afterwards?

Thanks for taking your time to review and answer this. I'm planning on creating a new main menu for Halo that would be much different in design from all the others. It's something i've always thought about but never actually put into action.

the main menu is a .map file just like all the other maps.

I am aware that .ogg also refers to a video format. So, i can make the backround flythrough beforehand and overlay the music onto it then save it as a .ogg?

ogg is an audio format, not a video format.

The videos on my desktop in .ogg format say otherwise.

I'm talking about this in terms for halo when compiling.

Of course ogg supports videos as well.

Meh.. This is getting annoying. The tutorials require photoshop and this happens to be the one thing that Gimp and photoshop don't have in common. By the way, I should have clarified this before; I know how to make a UI for Halo Custom Edition, Already. What i need help with is creating one using a static image and a custom soundtrack. The whole widget thing is really starting to irk me..

Create a blank scenario file and then draw a static bitmap over the screen for the static ui image. The part I forgot is which widget I referenced the static image..
