Here is a fun map with a bit of desert and some warthogs where you can have fuuun.

desert + box = desertbox.
It's a small map with some dunes that you can ride and have fun, works for any gametype but best played on CTF


Credits :
Jesse for his H3 barricade with a phantom collision (random invisible wall) fixed by me.
Zteam for effect tags on the spartan laser, and the sandbags.

You can extract from this map some great tags I made :

The HALO REACH WARTHOG, gauss and chaingun, including LODs, which means it causes less lag.
Rocket and troop will come when i'm less lazy.
The halo reach SPARTAN LASER. Anims by me and most of the tagging

and The HALO REACH SCOUT/MARK V permutation with awesome shaders and a decent rigging. Also includes LODs.

You can also get the cubemap used on all those tags to apply them on everything and act like you're good at shadering.


Have fun playin and ripping. I'll send soon the tags separately and cleaned on halomaps

It's a simple map, but quite fun to drive over the dunes. Could make for an interesting simple SP setting.

Lightmaps issues, and I dont have the source of the map anymore...
I'm planning to make a much larger desert map, we'll see if it comes one day.

It already has shadows , his mediocre computer can't handle specular, decals and shadows so he disabled it.

Do you actually know his computer's specs?

Do you have a reason to actually care ?

I can't get the shadows to work on most of my bipeds including stock except the hunter, no idea what's happening. You should try to stick the GBXmodel of this on something that actually casts shadows; it might work

I don't see why Bourrin would check the flag "Does not cast shadow".
He uses the default cyborg collision model too.

The default cyborg should be able to cast a shadow.I don't see why his Reach Spartans can't.

And shadows are generated from the model_collision_geometry IIRC. Maybe they're broked.

Generated by LODs, I saw this with the hog and a rigging error.

FIXED ! It was because I had some negative value in the bounding offset I think.
I closed the DLs because I will update it :D

It uses more than 20% per shot.
And it should only be able to fire 4 times,using 25% per shot.

Have fun editing it. and it was also the bouning radius which needed to be expanded to 0.7, it worked.

THE MAP HAVE BEEN UPDATED, REPLACE IT

How to make the Spartan Laser use 25% per shot

Just need open weapon tag and scroll down to the appropriate section.
Then change the values in the specified fields.

Misc

Heat generated per round: 0.05
Age generated per round: 0.03125


Charging time

Spew time: 0.3 seconds
