Hey, Howdy, Hi! im working on a Sp map (mentioned many times) and this is what comes up... debug... 01.15.13 17:45:23 tool pc 01.00.00.0609 ---------------------------------------------- 01.15.13 17:45:23 reference function: _write_to_error_file 01.15.13 17:45:23 reference address: 42ca20 01.15.13 17:45:33 couldn't allocate final cluster mirror.
and in Tool.exe it says... F:\My Documents\BOBs JUNK\halo stuff +\Halo Editing Kit>tool structure levels\ project_nyx\new_bsps\mayan\bsp_2 bsp_2 building intermediate geometry... building collision geometry... ### ERROR edge # 548 is open (red). ### ERROR edge #550 is open (red). ### ERROR edge #2734 is open red.
which is just never ending so i used toolio wich would fix it for me (unless its a massive one from one side of the level to the other). when i use toolio it says... but the question is... what does it mean by couldn't allocate final cluster mirror. D: anyone, please?

good morning :) for the couldn't allocate final cluster error, sunny put it quite simple so i'll just link to that thread. http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=58777 as for these: ### ERROR edge # 548 is open (red). ### ERROR edge #550 is open (red). ### ERROR edge #2734 is open red. convert your model to editable poly, then click on the border tool, scroll over the whole model and when you scroll over the model make sure F4 wireframe is on, now you will see red lines where the open edge errors are, they are just parts of the model that need sealed, you can weld verts, or delete polygons to make new ones to make sure all verts are connected.

i was messing with a shader wich i was trying to get like the strips around the corridors in b40 that act like light fixtures (to no avail).
and I noticed it has the overlaping edge error aswell which you helped with in one of my last threads.

you mean the textures that are used for lights, for example like the mp lights small strips texture?
if you were using that on a plane with # at the end it would show the texture and render it as a light. (just remember to link them to the frame too). now if the plane you added that texture to is placed touching the bsp geometry then you will get an over lapping orange error. have it close but not touching.

Lawl, I completely forgot about the render properties :3 but didn't think at the time to add them to the object separately. Thanks again Ally.
Btw, anyone know of a Gmax - Jms exporter that doesn't cause crappy fake open edge errors? Please?

pretty sure this error means you tried making something a mirrored surface without the surface that the shader is being applied to being completely flat. if you try and do that in halo it won't work

well thanks for the future reference. I deleted all the cliffs from the entire level then remade them just in case. and that fixed all the errors. except for the annoying open edges which arent even there. I read somewhere that some exporters can cause fake open edges, and i have my suspitions that chimp may be one of them. or is it just tool's way of saying "I dont like your map".
