I got some ripped models from a game, and I want to put them in Halo. However, due to something during extraction (I don't know what), it seems like each model is mirrored horizontally, and I want to fix this before doing anything else.
Here's an example, an SVD.

On the other side, it's missing geometry (probably a file space-saving measure).

And due to the way the asymmetrical eyepiece is oriented, it looks like the model is backwards.

Anyone know what I can do to make the correct side be on the left?

maybe untick the backface cull box in 3ds max then see if the geometry is there and
is just a matter of being flipped faces.

or just select the faces from the other side, hit select and move tool, drag the polygons to the other side which they are missing on. (get the copied polygons as close to the geometry as you can. then...
select vert mode then use the weld tool to just weld the verts from the copied polygons to the side of the rifle which has missing parts.

Are you saying that you want the model mirrored to have the sides of the gun on proper sides?

Apply the mirror modifier, then when it's mirrored properly, collapse the modifier.

That's what I was getting at, Qwerty. Thanks for the tip, it worked.
