i decided to work on a new map, partially because i wanted to finish an old project but mostly because the firefight BSP i was making was looking like crap. the layout is not original but i am making a few twists and tweaks on a forged map that was made for reach http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUkyY1grmfI&feature=plcp photos: http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee401/gokarter64/halo%20pics/render10.png    the Map is coming along great so far, and i plan to actually finish this one. i also managed to extract a bunch of the textures from the CEA version of hangemhigh so it should look great when its completed. but i'm more concerned about the gameplay then visuals. i am currently in the process of adding more detail to the bsp then i will be texturing and getting this ingame. hopefully by the end of next week . that is if i'm not to busy. i thought the same thing
i decided to download the cea maps off of winserv and try to see if they would work. then i realized that since the maps were set up using the reach file system that all of the files could be extracted just fine.
i told myself that i would bust out laughing if it worked... i ended up laughing.
though i only extracted them from the mp maps because they don't have the saber 3D engine weaved into them like the campaign maps. meaning they can be opened. Edited by killzone64 on Nov 18, 2012 at 07:42 PM

why are there so many polys just everywhere like wohhhhh o.o that could end up possibly causeing nearly coplanar surfaces. did you plan on optimizeing the unneeded polys when the models more polished?
looks like a cool map.

Meh I was kinda thinking a desert theme, with random piles of sand laying everywhere.But I'll probably make all three variants later :P
Sorry guys no progress today, blame it on need for speed most wanted 2012. I just got it today so it kinda sponged up my evening XD I will post updates tomorrow.

OK so today i started the long process of unwrapping the map. today's progress: not a ton of progress today but i plan to get a lot more tomorrow. and i also need a name for the map, the model file is called backwards S but i don't find that fitting. so if you guys have an suggestions for names, fire away because i need one. if you cant get a good view of the unwraps because the materials are a bit light just open the image in a new tab Edited by killzone64 on Nov 20, 2012 at 11:17 PM
