now that it accualy has a rateing and its 9.6 right now and almost 2000 downloads i gotta say im pretty phyched about how it turned out even though it was never finished due to lack of interest. original it was started a few years ago and was the only map PTM ever worked on and may be the only one since everyone decided to quit halo and go inactive.

although im pissed the read me "was not uploaded" and cant figure out how dennis knew ptm was part-time mappers i do enjoy some people atleast liked it. now as the leader of PTM i must ask how did you guys like it if you played it at all????

also would you guys like PTM to make another map??

ANDD would anyone like to join?

I have tried it, its ok from a map makers point of view. The reason it got soo many downloads is because not many people are releasing maps and tags these days, and if it has anything new its "protected". Which is why most people don't make them any more.

As for the map itself it follows the basic halo style which has its ups and downs.

As for my opinion on releasing your other maps, if they aren't garbage than release them, its how HCE stays alive.

theyre pretty garbage and what i like to consider the makeing of me as a halo mapper :P

ive got like 4 or 5 current projects that dont suck though. a few are close to completion (one being cliff shrine [search halomaps for the thread/beta]) and ive got more ideas i plan on working on.

btw CREDITS!!

Silent Warrior made the forerunner base and the catwalk kinda areas. aswell as the sky and the unsc machete model

M16 Assault aka R93Sniper made the animations for the machete (which he might redo intime for my map Cliff Shrines release)

Hr3shy (me) made the texture for the machete, modeled the rest of the bsp and did some unwrapping (which the base was never finished)

DSalimander portaled the map but i lost the file some how so its not in the release (omg im clumsy)

Ranger populated and used his background sound.

and a bunch of other people participated in betas. thanks.

first off i liked the base structures
inside and outside, i noticed the grenade isn't thrown but seems to come from the hip but the machete animations are spot on.
i also noticed you forgot to add wind to the map so the flags aren't visible in ctf.
the bridges could have done with more detail to the model as
the side were just flat and not eye catching,
but the detail to the bridge supports looked cool and the terrain i thought was modeled very well.
while the blue base does have the blue light beacons,
it has the red light texture, this would have been better if it was blue to match the
colour code of the blue teams base.
nice job on the sky, as the ambience colour blends well with the terrain texture.
whats on the upper bridge and can you get up to it?

accualy alot of those textures are from h2 cause we started this soon after i was done playing with colossus so the shaders for them are also custom, just very lame cause i have no idea what im doing when it comes to shaders.

omg when i first recieved the forerunner models i was like AWWWW YAAA sexy.
funny you say that about the terrain considering it was what i like to consider the first time i was playing with the cut tool after watching Higuys tutorial. looking back at it i could have put waay more detail in the terrain model but its not really neccasary is it? :P

also its a conveyor belt, the map was originaly ment to be a forerunner mineing site on Basis but i guess i forgot about a main future in the map that was going to radicly change the center of the map, which would be a giant forerunner pit that went very very far into the ground you could fall into and die, and i wanted to change alot about the layout. i guess you could say this map was inspired by Sidewinder.

also please note this was a beta and was never intended to be released this way but due to inactive members no work was getting done (especialy tagset wise which was going to be alot more custom) which is why i want to revive the team with new members of equal skill considering everyone in the team was accualy very talented people. not that it would matter if you wernt as good cause im always willing to train people and teach them new things to speed up their learning process cause it took me years to get to where im at and i could teach it to some one in months.

yeah i took into consideration the map was a beta, but still thought the terrain was fine,
but didn't think about that when i mentioned the likes of the grenade throw.

a conveyor belt? i just thought it was a bridge and thought hmmm, what's up there, must see, ah can't see lol, it sounds like you still had so much to add in this map that it makes me wonder how the finished map would have looked. now that you mention sidewinder the U shape and the teles fit that scenario.

i could maybe help out, but my downfall is designing map layouts, i've always let known that fact i'm rubbish at designing maps, but can model from refs if that's any help at all.

omg ive wondered so many times how this map could have turned out with the proper attention to it. the layout would have to be change in some major ways. the readme was never uploaded properly and i even forgot to put the backstory in it anyways lol.

honestly i wanted to put this map behind the team and start on a completely new project with new tags and textures/models n stuff as that was the original purpose of the team to create decent custom content in custom maps as thats the point of CE right? custom halo :D

which is why i wanted to get some new members that are accualy active, but i guess no one likes custom anymore. ive been debateing weither or not to dismantle the team for a year or so and focus on other teams interests like Spartan DSMT and Project Overdose.

i can model full on bsps, do population and all that crap but i need help tagwise n stuff which is how i got Peep210 and stuff in the team cause he was a ehfing master at scripts/tag stuff. hence i joined community mapping team (BELIEVE ME WE HAD SOME MASTERPEICES BEING MADE) which got hated on and all of a sudden *poof* gone.

(i still have alot of G4 stuff i wanted to do for PTM since IlDucePrimo is busy with other things)

tbh im not really looking for help but for people who would enjoy incorperateing their own ideas into a map at what theyre best at with other people doing the same, haveing fun. a legit team of mappers.
