DSalimander and I have been working with the H3MT Foundry model to overhaul and prettify it, but some elements are impeding our progress, namely the modeling on the crane system (of which there are three.) What I am requesting is that someone take the provided model and hopefully make this abide by the sealed world rules so we can progress further. You can intersect objects as long as they are sealed objects, just link them all to frame, or link to a main model then link that to frame.

You can, but in occasion this will create a lot of invisible faces, and or other problems. It's expected by tool for everything to be fully sealed for proper collision.

Naa, its never been a problem for me. If you do want that crane to move as a crane would irl, you would want them to be separate objects anyway.

Why don't you just make it render only? If the player can't touch the ceiling then who cares.
