No, It's not your average out of memory error, here's why:



I have around 14GB of RAM and I left this running for 10 hours. It kept printing the same decimal until it got out of memory error. What can I do to fix this? The level isn't too big I hope. Also don't bother commenting about my 117 processes, that was entirely by accident.

An "out of memory" error doesn't necessarily mean it used all of your RAM. It means tool used all of the memory it's allotted.

Is this too big/expensive of a bsp?



and how does halo know the difference from indoor and outdoor?

If I remember correctly, 74k faces isn't excessive, though I'm no modeler. It might be the 41 materials causing you some issues; again, though, I'm no modeler.

try making radiosity in sapien and as soon it starts showing numbers end it. You can have a lot of materials, much more than 41.

the 41 or slightly more materials can't be the issue as i had an old map with 93 mats and it ran fine.
also you have vehicle region errors there. (jet)
you are running normal tool right?
try 0 0.9 slightly lower quality but see it works.
did lightmaps ever work for you on this map? if yes try deleting the old bitmap then run tool again.
also you could try building the map to see if it will compile.

I've been running in normal tool for two days now and it's gotten pretty far, Hopefully it will be done soon, then I get to populate the map and run it again!

How many triangles does the map have? It should be less than 50 000

thats way over the limit. It will cause a lot of issues ingame unless you use good portals... very good portals.

Just wanted to let everyone know who was wondering, Radiosity has finally finished creating lightmaps. The lightmaps were great quality but the map is all screwed up so I get to fix these errors in max and start over again!
