I'm having a terrible time trying to compile sound files with permutations. It's so ridiculous it makes Bungie and Gearbox seem like magicians. I do not understand why it won't compile.Tool can't "read" the files at all.

Erm, no spiral. It's 44100 hz and 22050 hz, plus they can both be stereo and mono. Stereo 44100 hz is mainly used for main menu music but you can still use it for higher quality sounds.
Make sure that you save them as a wav in either 44100 hz or 22050 hz.

then make sure you type in "tool sounds sh__" NOT "tool sounds sh__\growl" since the sounds are inside the growl folder. Edited by XlzQwerty1 on Sep 5, 2012 at 09:27 PM

It says it couldn't read the file. That's happened to me before too, but I forgot how I fixed it. I remember reexporting it with audacity to another folder and made sure that no other program was using the file. It worked for me.
