sometimes i miss the chaos occasionally

as i said in the firefight descent thread i believe my modeling skills to be good enough to take another crack at modeling a map. so here it is.






so far i have poured about 2 hours into it and i am happy with the results but i cannot decide weather to make the map human themed or forerunner themed,(by this i mean forerunner textures or human textures). so i turned to you guys for help with this.

any suggestions for improvement would be great.

oops forgot to add a wireframe


its insanely low poly right now at only around 1400 so i need to add more detail

First things first: Get out of blender and into 3ds max / gmax. Recommend 3ds max, and the same goes for EVERYONE here.

agree, you can get a free like 3 or 4 year student edition of 3ds max.

But it looks pretty good so far.

actually i have 3ds max but i prefer to model in blender. i can model and uv map in blender really quickly. since the uv map data can be read between blender and max i can just export as a .obj file. i have enough of an understanding of how max works to get stuff in-game so its a good system for me.

sure, max may be the industry standard but blender has some pretty advanced features and you can create some great looking things with it. another plus is that it is easy to learn, i have only been using it since October of last year and i have made great leaps and bounds in my modeling skills.


updates
i have decided to go forerunner on this map and so i started working on the roadway because it was kind of bland. so here is what i am going to set up along the road.

i also made some barriers so that vehicles cant cut through the tunnels.

okay update an hope for bump time :p

i have decided to make it the interior of a forerunner structure. and best of all i just might be using the cmt spv3 weaponset

im still open for ideas ex weaponsets textures ect as this map is still unfinished
