It's in the name does this download have a virus and the download i'm talking about is the halo custom edition

if you got it here then it is fine. scan it before you install it, sure that's the best way to find out.
it should be spot on. just remember to run the update after you install the game to be on the newest version. it will do it automatically after you try to play online. after the update if you see a cmd window popup then you need to just drag that to one side a little so that you can see the patch installer, let that run and you are fine.
