I know how to change the weapon pickup icon bitmaps in HUD globals, but I don't know how to make different weapons reference different icons within the bitmap file. Could somebody please tell me how?

No men is a bad idea ok make this example you have a full icons of weapons of halo 3 ok delete this file hud_msg_icons.bitmaps which is located in tags\ui\hud\bitmaps\combined delete this file and put the new file with the same name. Next open guerrilla and open the file and see your new icons and only offer you modified the index of the weapons

No, you don't need to delete your file. Trust me im a hud expert, what you want to do first is go to ui/hud and copy default.hud_globals. Then paste that in your folder of where your new hud is. Once done go to back to main tags folder and open /globals and open globals.globals. Scroll down until you reach the interface bitmaps tab. Then click on the ... next to hud globals and locate the file you copied. Once done with all that create your new pickup icons. Ill explain the rest later but do this for now, gtg :D

All I want to do is change which icon is used by each weapon, because they're currently all mismatched (for example, a shotgun has an icon like an assault rifle). I already have a premade bitmap file for the icons (from SPV3).

No guy listen is a bad idea Especially if you are working on a map sp to record animations or animations to make this change are changed and no longer serve animations told from experience

If you just want to change the pickup icon you need to go to the bottom of the weapon_hud_interface tag for that weapon. Change the sequence index to the number in the pickup icons bitmap to the one you want. You many have to play around with the number to find the right picture for the spv3 icons.

You can also extract the spv3 weapon_hud_interface tags for the weapons you want and just copy the number.
